One Sky

Technology saves lives.

Modern defence means detection, precision and speed. Precise interception saves the people attacks are meant to hit. The difference between a net and an open sky is not a question of hope, but of technology and its availability. Ukraine does not need compassion — it needs the systems that protect.

The One Sky campaign launched by New Age Defence in cooperation with Vitsche NGO aims to explain that the better protection is, the more invisible it becomes. Visible protection is proof of its absence. The campaign starts with the exhibition-installation “We Share One Sky” on 24 August in Berlin, which will be presented under a protective drone net. In Ukraine, a drone net over a playground is the bare minimum — an attempt at self-protection when nobody provides anything better. Anyone standing beneath it and looking up understands without a word: this is supposed to stop a drone? Nobody wants to live like this.

At the centre of the campaign is the message that we all in Europe share one sky. It is physically true: drone incidents in Poland, Romania and at German airports know no borders. There is no “over there”. In Berlin, the sky means weather. In Kherson, it means danger. It is the same sky. The campaign therefore highlights the difference between visible, improvised protection and the technology needed to provide effective protection.

We need to defend ourselves with drones, not with nets. The best safety net is none.
